Palace for children's culture to be established in Stockholm
The city of Stockholm and the Stockholm County Council direct their efforts towards a children's cultural centre in central Stockholm. The city and county council hope that the state is also going to contribute to the the so called Palace for children's culture.
The idea of children's cultural centre comes from some people working in the production company Zingofilm, Lotta Nilsson and Anders Bergh, as well as the author of books for children Moni Nilsson. The Palace for children's culture will be located in Riddarholmen, in the former premises of the National Archive that have been empty for years. Reconstruction of the old building has started and the centre is due to open its doors in 2011. Let us see if it has a ghost of its own!
The city of Stockholm has earmarked 1,5 million SEK for the so called Palace for children's culture in its next year's budget. This support is expected to become bigger in the future.
