The Cultural Rucksack to be tested in Düsseldorf
The schools in Düsseldorf, Germany, test a model similar to the the Dutch and Norwegian schemes for culture in school, 'Kulturgutscheine' and 'Den kulturelle skolesekken' ('The Cultural Rucksack').
The German pilot project is based on the opinion that it is very important that children and young people become acquainted with quality art and culture and with all kinds of artistic and cultural expressions.
The challenge is to find an organised form of working with culture in the German school, that would be suitable for German schools and cultural life and that would be possible to implement in a country as large and as densely populated as Germany.
