Arts Council Norway grants support to dance projects for children and young people

The projects Isadora and Floorknights Family are two of the dance projects supported by Arts Council Norway. In these projects the most important participants are children and young people.

The projects Isadora and Floorknights Family are development projects where children and young people are given the opportunity to meet professional  dance artists. 2008 is the third year for the project Isadora, and it will have its premiere in October 2008. Youngsters will have their share of responsibility for the performances by taking part in defining the theme, making artistic decisions and choosing the form of the performance. The kids and youngsters who have taken part in this work have significantly improved their competence in solving various tasks and seeing their own role within the framework of a large project.

Floorknights Family is an arena for young talents in the field of break-dance. In 2008 Floorknights will be developing a major performance, entitled ‘A doll's house'. The performance is a hybrid of dance and nonverbal theatre.
