Success for Norwegian animation film

The Norwegian co-produced short film 'Peter og ulven' ('Peter and the Wolf') was awarded Oscar in 2008. The Norwegian production company Storm Studio which is co-producer of the film 'Peter og ulven', has also produced the animation film 'Slipp Jimmy fri' ('Free Jimmy') that was awarded the main prize at the animation festival in Annecy.

The half-an-hour long short film 'Peter and the Wolf' tells the story of Peter who isn't afraid of anything, including the dangerous wolf that he meets – a story immortalised by  Prokofiev's composition.

Lately, quite a number of Norwegian animation films have made their mark in the international film arenas. In 2007 Torill Kove was rewarded Oscar for his animated short film 'Den danske dikteren' ('The Danish Poet'), and the same year Christopher Nielsen's début film 'Slipp Jimmy fri' ('Free Jimmy') received the main prize at the film festival in Annecy.
