New action plan from the Danish Network for Children and Culture
The action plan focuses on three themes: culture in day-care institutions, culture in school and culture in the family. These themes are highly relevant to the state, municipalities and cultural institutions, and each of them can contribute to their quantity and quality. The most important task in 2008 – 2009 is to disseminate, develop, improve and anchor the new local cultural supply for children, created by the Network alongside with municipalities all over Denmark.
In 2008 the Network is focusing mainly on architecture and design for children by means of four thematic seminars and one book dedicated to ideas and discussions. At the same time, the Network is offering support to the municipalities in the process of building new networks in the field of children’s culture and organising short courses for specific groups of professionals, which enhances the competence of all those involved in the development and promotion of children’s culture.
The publication also contains the Network’s status report for the year 2007. It offers an account of all the activities in the sphere of children’s culture conducted by the Danish Ministry of Culture, including cross- cultural activities within the Network for Children and Culture.
