«Drama as a form of expression and working method» on the Norwegian 'School in Practice' website
The Norwegian website 'School in Practice' ('Skole i praksis') contains a film about how drama pedagogical forms of expression and working methods can be employed in the process of education. The film also demonstrates how the use of fiction can create an exciting learning space in the classroom, when the teacher is an active leader and a fellow player alongside with the pupils.
The film offers a brief introduction into some process drama teaching techniques. Process drama has a fictional action, a scenario, and it is composed of episodes in which different drama techniques are being used to disclose various points of view in the story. The film explains these drama pedagogical techniques and it contains clips with examples of Norwegian, social subjects and English lessons. The methods can be applied to all the subjects in primary and secondary school and they provide students and teachers with tools to explore and discuss material related to the teaching subject and new ways of expressing themselves.
