Art, culture and schools in the Nordic countries
Art, culture and schools in the Nordic countries
Currently, all the Nordic countries are involved in discussions about the role of art and culture at school. Most of the countries have also launched various initiatives to strengthen the work with art and culture in the daily life of schools. Therefore there are very good reasons for sharing experience, discussing strategies and coordination of possible joint initiatives.
A Nordic network of art and culture at school was established in a meeting in Copenhagen in January 2007. Subsequently, the network had a meeting in Torshavn in February 2008, and one meeting is scheduled to take place in Bodø in the spring of 2009. The members of the network also act as contact persons in their respective countries.
Art and culture at school is a new theme at Valhalla. Here you can read more about the network's activities and find links to relevant Nordic authorities and initiatives of current interest. In the future, the theme will be extended to include links to organisations and interesting projects in the rest of Europe.
